I sublet space in my studio (#3 at 438R Somerville Ave, in Somerville, next to Market Basket). I pay $725 a month, plus $75 as a member of the Cambridge Hackspace where they’re letting me tap into their Internet. I rent on a month to month basis with the landlord.
I’ve divided the studio up into 5 work areas, including mine. Each work area is $150/month. Right now, the studio is occupied by me, Becky D. (jewelry and crafts) and Amanda H. (paper based arts). I have two spaces open.

Each space is along the left wall. There is space for a desk (in front of window) and a tall bookshelf or cabinet. In the photo you can see one of us has a white cabinet and another a bookshelf.
We keep the rest of the space open for working at a big table or lounging in chairs. We like it more of an arty living room than split up into private work areas.
GOOD: 6 large windows of glorious sunlight. High ceiling. Very cozy. All artists in building.
BAD: Windows barely open or close. Insulation is horrible, so difficult to cool in the summer. In the winter, the heater generally keeps up. There are musicians in building so can get noisy.
We cannot do any woodworking in the space. We would only want someone who does small crafts or is a writer or photography type.
